Cushendall village is on the main A2 Coast Road and is known as "The Capital of the Glens" at the foot of Lurigethan Mountain as it is a highly scenic area. The Turnley's 19th century Curfew Tower is the focal point of the village.
Cushendall village is the meeting point of three glens: Glenann, Glenballylemon and Glencorp. In this picturesque village, preserved Georgian houses line the four streets, and the Turnley's 19th Century Curfew Tower is the centrepiece of the village. Cushendall is a perfect place to walk along the beach, ramble around the glens, sit by the river or explore both stone-aged monuments and its more recent historical, sword-producing, past. Views of Scotland add the final touch to this wonderful place.
The Glens of Antrim are discussed separately under the Nine Glens of Antrim travel guide. The traveller can either take a diversion from following the Causeway Coast route and move inland to see the Glens up close and personal or the traveller can continue north.
