  • Horse riding in Northern Ireland

Horse riding in Northern Ireland is a tradition as old as the hills. Miles and miles of beautiful coastline, loughs, forest and private estates are accessible on horseback in Northern Ireland.  There are numerous equestrian centres all over the country catering to all levels of riders from beginners to experienced riders.

The cost of learning how to ride a horse on a holiday in Northern Ireland does not have to be unduly expensive.  Most equestrian centres will offer packages for people of all levels and will normally have helmets to fit all sizes of heads.

Some centres also provide pony treking.  These sessions can be one or two hours in length and include an experienced guide.  What a beautiful way for a family to spend an afternoon!  However, beware that Northern Ireland weather can experience all four seasons in one day (possibly even one hour) so you should wear appropriate clothing (ie. layers).

Please ensure that horses are allowed on the beach (your provider should let you know this), but if they are what an experience!
